Welcome to the k. thompson photography blog! I’m Kelsey Thompson, a documentary-style wedding photographer in the Washington, DC metro area. I work and reside in Alexandria, Virginia with my two cute and crazy dogs and my husband (also cute and crazy). This photography blog will be the best place for you to view images from my recent weddings and portrait sessions. It’s also where I’ll announce new products and share my thoughts about weddings, photography, and the amazing couples that I feel so lucky to work with year-round!

Katie & Chris - River Bend Country Club

Katie and Chris were married on a beautiful day in August. Wait, what's that? Yes, we actually do get some nice days in August! And this was definitely one of them. Though, I'll admit to keeping my fingers crossed the entire week beforehand in hopes that it wouldn't be 100 degrees in the shade. Katie and Chris are just so sweet together as a couple, I had such a wonderful time capturing their day! We started out at Katie's parents' house to get some detail shots and images of Katie getting ready.
I love this image. Three generations of women sharing a special moment. You can see both Katie's mom and grandmother's hands lacing up the back of her dress.
We slipped outside for a few fun shots. I love it when the clouds cooperate!
Chris was absolutely beaming during their first dance as husband and wife.

Sneak Peek - Katie & Chris
I confess...I seem to be falling a bit behind with my blogging these days. I'm busy playing catch-up from all the amazing weddings I've been so lucky to photograph so far this year. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again (and again)...thanks to all the great couples who have made this year so busy and so much fun! I promise that I'll get to the blogging soon!
