So much more to come!

With the the busiest time of year in full swing, I have been letting the blog fall a bit behind in order to keep up with all the editing, album design, and orders flooding in this time of year. But don't feel cheated! There are some too-good-to-be-true weddings coming up just as soon as possible:

Kim & Mike's elegant day at Dahlgren Chapel and the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria.

Alex & David's beautiful Fall wedding at Algonkian Park (with potraits at the Manassas Battlefield!)

Kelly & Adam's intimate ceremony right on the water in Old Town Alexandria.

And finally, Jessica & Steve's colorful waterfront celebration in Fell's Point, Baltimore.

Laura & Craig - River Farm

Ceremony: Good Shepherd Catholic Church
Reception: River Farm
Flowers: Blossom Shop
Catering: Laura Ritchie, R&R Catering

I have been so excited about Laura and Craig's wedding since the day of our first meeting. These two are just so sweet together and I absolutely adore River Farm Plantation, where they hosted their reception. It was a gorgeous and very sunny day when I showed up to start photographing the getting ready time at the Crowne Plaza in Alexandria. The great moments started early and continued well into the night. I loved every minute of being there to capture their day! They should be getting back from their honeymoon today, so enjoy the preview and congratulations again you two!

Laura's dad started tearing up from the moment he first saw her.

Love the look they exchanged after their vows!

River Farm is one of my favorite venues and it was beautiful on this spring day.

Craig's best man gave one of the funniest toasts ever. Truly hysterical.

Albums - Tina & Joey

I realized a little while back that I haven't been sharing a lot of completed albums on the blog. So, I'm doing my best to change that starting right now! When Tina and Joey's albums first arrived at my doorstep, I admit that I rushed to open the boxes like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Step One - Find the scissors. Where did I put those dang things? It doesn't seem to matter how many pairs I own, I can never find them when a package arrives. Especially when it's a package I am this excited to open. I did eventually find them underneath a file folder in my office. Okay, under a stack of about five folders...but who's counting?

Step Two - Wrestle to unwrap the 50 layers of bubble-wrap, paper, and packing tape that kept Tina and Joey's albums safe and sound during the trials of shipping. Ten minutes later, I could just begin to see the edges of lush leather.

Step Three - Lovingly turn each page that I spent hours designing and squeal with undeniable excitement. I love this part. After months of communication, hours of wedding day fun, days and days of editing, many more hours of retouching and album design, and finally the hardest part of waiting for the UPS man to deliver the goods, my couple will have a gorgeous album to forever display the images that we created together on their wedding day.

And Step Four - Take lots and lots of photos! I finished that last step a few days ago and have just been waiting on pins and needles for Tina and Joey to take home their gorgeous new albums before I could finally share the photos with you. Well, last night they got their first glimpse, so here I am! They selected a classic black leather cover for their 11x11 main album, but spiced it up with a stunning acrylic cameo.

I love to design to fit each of my couple's individual style. Some albums are organic and intricate. Others are simple and striking. Tina and Joey selected a clean design with nothing to take away from the images, and I love how it turned out!

They also ordered two duplicate 8x8 parent albums to give to each of their mothers. I designed custom gift-certificates for each mom and they presented them at their rehearsal dinner to say thank you. Such a great idea!

As Tina sat down and started to look through the albums, she told me how she remembered that it was her mom that initially insisted they get an album. And how glad she is now that her mom did! I'm really happy she did too, because I loved creating them! I hope they enjoy looking through them for years and years (and years) to come!
