Ann & Roger - Historical Society of Washington, DC - Part I

Ceremony: Capitol Hill United Methodist Church
Reception: The Historical Society of Washington D.C.
Flowers: Greenworks
Catering: Capitol Catering

Ann and Roger had a gorgeous (and hot!) day in June for their beautiful Capitol Hill wedding. I'm actually going to split their post into two parts because there were just so many beautiful details and great moments that I want to share. This first post will include the getting ready, ceremony and some artistic portraits. I'm saving the entire second part of their post for the reception because it was simply stunning! I felt truly lucky to be a part of their day. It was almost difficult to take a photo of Ann when she wasn't smiling! The energy and connection between Ann and Roger was ever present and came across effortlessly in their images. Here are some of my favorite images from part one of their day...

Ann gave each of her bridesmaids a lovely bracelet as a gift while they were getting ready.

Tears of joy were already flowing as Ann walked up the aisle to Roger.

Love this! Ann accidentally tried to place her ring on Roger's finger and had everyone laughing out loud.

This is definitely one of my favorite images from their day!

Stay tuned for more images from Ann and Roger's gorgeous reception at the Historical Society...

Megan & Adam - Engaged!

Occasionally, when I'm reeeeally lucky, everything just seems to come together perfectly for an afternoon of photography. Megan and Adam's engagement session was one such time. The light was stunning, the temperatue was perfect, the sky was clear (no rain for once!), and Megan and Adam were quite at ease in front of the camera. This may have something to do with the fact that Adam is a bit of a photographer himself, but then again, given my own fear of being on the other side of the lens, perhaps not. Whatever it was, I have been having an absolute blast editing the images that we captured that day. They told me that they particularly love kissing photos, so get ready for quite a few!

Megan's ring is really unique!

I caught them checking it out between shots...

I couldn't decide which version of this shot was my favorite, so you get both!

When we passed this wall while walking back to our cars, I only had 4 shots left, so this was our final image of the day!

Barbara & Charles - Potomac, MD

Ceremony and Reception: Normandie Farm
Flowers: Conklyn's
Make-up: Shauné Hayes

When Barbara and I first met to discuss her wedding to Charles, we managed to talk our way through almost every possible topic of wedding-related conversation. But the one thing I remember the most is how excited she was about the shoes that she was going to wear. Well, her shoes entirely lived up to the hype and so did the rest of their wedding day! The rain and thunder held off until I was in the car on my way home and Barbara and Charles were able to say their vows in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by all their loved ones. I think it only appropriate that I start off with an image of the shoes...

The combination of spike heels, a loose aisle runner and long grass made walking up the aisle quite a trick!

Married!

One more shot with the shoes.

I love the single tear that slides down Barbara's cheek.

And they're off! Congratulations you two!
